Guitar TAB workflow

How to create guitar TAB online

Use the TAB Creator above as a practical guitar tab maker: choose the string, enter the fret number and build the idea one beat or measure at a time. The six lines represent the guitar strings, with the high E string at the top and the low E string at the bottom.

Enter fret numbers clearly

Type 0 for an open string and use the real fret number for a fretted note. Keep simultaneous notes aligned across multiple strings when you want to show a chord. Two-digit frets such as 10 or 12 should stay together as one position.

Build a playable example

Start with a short E minor idea: open low E, then frets 2 and 3 on the same string. Add only the notes you can play cleanly, listen back where playback is available and adjust the BPM before expanding the phrase.

TAB symbols and techniques

Hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides and bends need clear notation. Use only the symbols supported by the editor, then check the guitar TAB symbols guide for readable examples.

Save, print and continue

Use the available print or export controls to keep a copy of the finished idea. For longer study material, review how to create and read guitar TABs, browse the TAB library, or publish useful work through Guitar Hub.
